The report is devoted to the problems associated with losses and displacement of historical and cultural values of Ukraine at various times, the threats to national cultural heritage, which arose because of the recent events in Southern and Eastern Ukraine, are considered, the role of institutions and experts of NAS of Ukraine in scientific support for public policy devoted to search and return of displaced and lost cultural values is shown..
