Abstract

The author reflects in the article on the patterns of science development, the role of scientific field as industry, where the main means of production is intelligence, on the relationship of science, on the one hand, with society, and on the other – with the authorities, and in addition, asks why the theme of science has now gained such a wide resonance in the world.
