January 29 marks the 85th birthday of an outstanding Ukrainian scientist and organizer of science, founder of a scientific school in the field of linearized mechanics of deformable bodies and related directions, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR (1985), twice laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology (1979, 1988), Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (2016), laureate of the V.I. Vernadskyi Golden Medal of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2014), prizes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine: O.M. Dynnik Prize (1979), M.K. Yangel Prize (1983), S.P. Tymoshenko Prize (2000), G.S. Pisarenko Prize (2014), V.M. Glushkov Prize (2016), O.K. Antonov Prize (2017), long-time director of the S.P.
