Learn to be a Scientist

Abstract

The research institutions of the National Academy of Sciences in Ukraine are in need of young researchers, but, unfortunately, only a few college graduates choose the academic career and pursue it domestically. This article proposes the model of the Research University, which, in the author’s opinion, might continuously supply new generation of researchers from the ranks of the graduates of MAN (Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) and from the  winners of school Olympiads or the other youth competitions, where person is showing devotion to research activities since childhood. The author’s thoughts expressed in this article are derived from his 30-years experience of working with the Kyiv’s MAN «Doslidnyk» in the position of teaching and research coordinator of informatics, from his cooperation with the teachers and scientists of Crimea’s MAN «Iskatel», as well as from close and extensive interaction with MAN’s students.
