Abstract

It’s discovered that the term «molecular biology» was used at first in 1881 in the text and title of scientific and philosophical treatise by theorizer and science populizer L.K. Popov. His ideas about chemical nature and arising of life are analyzed with regard to the most widespread at that time doctrines — by H. Spencer, C. Bernard, E. Haeckel. The author proves that Popov had developed an evolution way in abiogenesis studies much earlier than Alexandr I. Oparin. Lazar Popov had also worked very much on hypothesis about complexity of life molecular organization, was among the first ones realizing the formation of new discipline — molecular biology.
