Modern and postmodern methodology: problems of contrary approaches synthesis

Abstract

The article analyzes the essence of methodology and culture dominants of modern and postmodern epochs, illuminates the problem of their counteraction and interplay. The question of role played by rationality and irrationality in cognition is viewed. The author accentuates that contemporary culture could emerge only at the bounds of tradition and innovation tendencies growth and real cultural sense of modernity should be seen in culture dialogue.
