Algorithm of nuclear power plant reliability provision

Abstract

Chernobyl disaster forced Ukrainian scientists to focus their attention on the research of radiation processes that occur in the course of accidents at nuclear power plants. Consequences of nuclear energy use that can not be predicted by the mankind pushed the experts to develop a number of preventive actions in case of violation of nuclear power plant operation mode, practice the methods of radionuclide concentration forecasting, radiation conditions mathematical modeling, elaboration of the strategy of conduct under emergency situation. Intensification of the work in these trends resulted in foundation of the Institute of nuclear power plants safety problems of National Academy of sciences of Ukraine in Chernobyl. Activity of the institute is described in the article.
