Abstract

The article presents laconic description of functional and semantic field of alternativeness, study of its interaction with the other field formations based on the modern English language material. The syntagmatic interaction in the linked categorical situations is proved to reflect natural relations between fundamental properties of surrounding world that make meaningful basis of the appropriate fields.
