Hydrocarbon potential of Ukrainian mineral resources and main trends of its development

Abstract

Strategic role of hydrocarbon raw material, oil and gas in particular, determines the fundamental character of wide range of petroleum geology and technology investigations for modern civilization. This fact causes priority character of hydrocarbons sources exploration not only for branch but also for academic science that concerns Ukraine (with their great petroleum potential) in large measure. Geology prospecting for oil and gas cand hydrocarbon material mining connected with three large Ukrainian regions: Eastern, Western and Southern. Their combined area reaches 81% of total territory of Ukraine. Therewith petroliferous stratigraphic range is as wide as possible, this broad stratigraphic and depth diapasons combine with great diversity of hydrodynamic and hydrogeochemic regimes of petroliferous complexes. Article investigates hydrocarbon potential of Ukrainian mineral resources, main lines of its development. A great role of science at up-to-date stage of prospecting for oil and gas and the necessity of increasing of geophysical prospecting and deep drilling are substantiated.
