Abstract

April 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Hydromechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a leading scientific institution in the field of hydraulic engineering and hydromechanics of moving objects, turbulent flows, and water jets. The article highlights the main milestones in the history of the Institute, the formation and development of its scientific directions, outlines priority areas of activity, and presents the most significant scientific achievements of the institution.
