The report presents the current results of scientific research conducted by specialists of the Institute of Marine Biology of the NAS of Ukraine on assessing the impact of military operations on key marine protected areas of Ukraine. A classification of the impacts of military operations on marine ecosystems has been developed, which allows for a systematic assessment of their scale and consequences for biodiversity and the state of habitats. This classification is based on the division of factors of influence into direct and indirect, which allows, based on a point expert assessment, identifying the most vulnerable water areas and forming priorities for further monitoring. Ways to solve problems related to the preservation and protection of marine protected areas in conditions of ongoing hostilities are proposed.
