On the establishment of the Mykhaylo Ostrogradsky Centre for Advanced Mathematical Studies & Education at the Institute of Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine

Abstract

Given the critical state of all levels of mathematical education in Ukraine, the Department of Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine has addressed the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine with the initiative to create the Mykhailo Ostrogradsky Centre for Advanced Mathematical Studies & Education on the basis of the Institute of Mathematics of the NAS of Ukraine. The primary goal of the Centre's activities should be to promote the sustainable development of mathematical science and education in Ukraine, to recreate the scientific human resource potential, as well as to preserve and develop scientific mathematical schools through the establishment of effective interaction of the mathematical community of the Academy with scientific, educational, innovation, business, defense and security institutions, including international ones.
