Abstract

The report states that radio astronomy research in the low-frequency range is one of the priority areas of modern science, in which Ukraine traditionally holds leading positions. A brief historical excursion into the development of this area in Ukraine is given. It is emphasized that the most important strategic task today is the preservation of and support for the national school of radio astronomy, as well as the restoration and modernization of the world's largest low-frequency radio telescope UTR-2, the unique scientific infrastructure of which has suffered significant damage as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
