The article analyzes the gender characteristics of authorship in scientific periodicals using the example of the journal "Visnyk of the NAS of Ukraine" and the composition of the editorial boards of scientific journals of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The ratio of women to men in the editorial boards of world scientific periodicals is considered. Data on the representation of women in management positions in 83 journals was collected from open sources, and the share of men and women in all publications and the gender distribution by type of publications in the journal "Visnyk of the NAS of Ukraine" for 2010-2025 were determined. The results showed a significant underrepresentation of women among editors-in-chief, authors of scientific articles, and scientists to whom materials in certain sections of the journal are devoted.
