Radiobiological effects of Chornobyl NPP Accident on mammals: view after 20 years
Abstract
The results of our investigations of biological radiation effects on animals and humans caused by radionuclides produced during Chernobyl NPP accident are reviewed. Radiogenic changes of hematopoietic, immune and reproductive systems are discussed. An increase of disease incidence and tumor pathology as well as shortening of life span of animals are also considered. Increase of sickness rate as by separate disease classes as by nosologic forms and other radiation exposure consequences are discovered in people suffered from Chornobyl accident.
