SCIT — Ukrainian supercomputer project

Abstract

The detail characteristic of the first local supercomputers SCIT -1 and SCIT -2 with cluster architecture is presented. These computers were created in V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of Ukrainian NAS and correspond to the best world counterparts. The system capacity to solve supercomplex tasks in such fields as science, economy, ecology, engineering, security is demonstrated. The software implemented on clusters SCIT-1 and SCIT-2 enabled development of a range of information technologies applied in various economics branches, in forecasting of natural and man-caused processes. The ways of further development of SCIT-1 and SCIT-2 class intellectual supercomputers for common use in many organizations and different regions of Ukraine are described.
