Chornobyl: new view of influence of small radiation doses
Abstract
The first genetic consequences for populations of different types of organisms are analyzed, in particular for people who live at the polluted territories as a result of Chornobyl power plant failure. Based on the bulk of theoretical and practical material the authors show that the problem is caused not by the absolute value of received radiation dose but by their new character for population investigation. It’s proved that the part of the genes connected with high radiation sensitivity is eliminated. The most adaptable individuals seem to be the less specialized ones, so simplification of populations takes place.
