The article presents sociological research on the issues, current state, and characteristics of the solidarity of Ukrainian society during the period of full-scale war. It argues for the need for a substantive national-civic model of solidarity in the context of war and in the post-war perspective. The article outlines the features of solidaristic social interactions in Ukrainian society under war conditions, including the awareness of a fundamental existential challenge concerning the existence of the nation and the state. It is emphasized that the war has not changed but rather intensified the predominantly paternalistic attitudes of Ukrainian society, with people expecting social responsibility and support from the state. The study explores potential social cleavages and risks of social tensions amidst the war.
Keywords: solidarity, social interactions, war, national-civic identity, paternalism, social cleavages, social conflicts.
