Abstract

The article is devoted to the 150^th anniversary of the prominent epidemiologist and microbiologist, science organizer, President of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in 1928–1929, Academician D.K. Zabolotny and presents his biographical information, main stages of life and most significant scientific achievements, highlights the humanistic views and civic stand of the scientist, the academician’s role is reflected in the formation and development of national higher medical education.
