This year marks 150^th anniversary of outstanding agrobiologist, student of Professor K.A. Timiryazev, associate of Academician V.I. Vernadsky – S.L. Frankfurt. The article tells about the activities of S.L. Frankfurt in the deployment in Ukraine of systemic agronomic and agrochemical research, primarily on growing sugar beet and its role in the national academic science
