Abstract

The report considers the problem of researching the most ancient Ukrainian manuscript heritage and the need for further publication of Ukrainian manuscripts, accompanying them with thorough scientific codicological, paleographic, orthographic, and linguistic studies. The author emphasizes the need to expose the ideologized and, in fact, unscientific views of Russian scientists on the cultural and linguistic heritage of Rus, which they spread in the world humanities, imposing a false myth that until the 14th century Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians allegedly shared a common Old Russian culture, Old Russian language and Old Russian writing, which Muscovy-Russia inherited. Refuting this pseudo-scientific position remains one of the most urgent tasks for Ukrainian humanities scholars.
