Abstract

"Ukraine. Essays on History" — a new historical narrative. The first results of an (un)completed project

At the end of December 2024, the Publishing House "Akademperiodyka" of the NAS of Ukraine published the last book of a large-scale project of Ukrainian historians "Ukraine. Essays on History", the goal of which was to create the largest and most complete modern historical Ukrainian narrative to date. Seven books in three volumes accumulate the latest achievements of Ukrainian historiography in aspects of conceptualizing the national historical process. The project "Ukraine. Essays on History" is aimed at the widest readership, and it is important that all its books are publicly available on the websites of the Institute of History of Ukraine of the NAS of Ukraine and the Publishing House "Akademperiodyka". Chronologically, the last book of the project describes events until 2019, and therefore the large-scale Russian invasion in February 2022 certainly becomes a new milestone that will determine further vectors of research into the modern history of Ukraine.
