Biofuels and petroleum fuels in the context of Ukraine's fuel independence

Abstract

The report presents some of the most important results of current research conducted at the V.P. Kukhar Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry and Petrochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on the influence of the chemical composition of natural oils on the quality of fatty acid esters obtained by transesterification. These works are aimed at developing effective homogeneous catalytic methods for the production of ethyl and butyl fatty acid esters as components of biodiesel fuel.
