March 16 marks the 90th anniversary of a unique multifaceted personality of contemporary Ukraine – a well-known theoretical physicist, a famous translator, a polyglot, a diplomat, a laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology (1990), a laureate of the Maksym Rylsky Prize (2005), a recipient of the Order of the Rising Sun (2006), a member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, an employee of the Institute of Physics of the NAS of Ukraine (1960—1966) and the Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics of the NAS of Ukraine (1966—1992), the first chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine (1992—1996), adviser on science and education at the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan (2001—2003), doctor of physical and mathematical sciences (1977) Ivan P. Dzyub.
