Abstract

The creative heritage of Immanuel Kant, which includes theoretical and practical philosophy, as well as philosophical anthropology, is of outstanding philosophical and socio-political importance today. It is emphasized that in Ukraine, in particular at the H. Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a powerful historical and philosophical tradition of research into German classical philosophy, the foundation of which is the philosophy of Kant, has developed. Kant's practical philosophy has become an important factor in the leading trends of modern philosophy in the world: the philosophy of communication and the ethics of discourse. The relevance of Kant's practical philosophy is especially evident today, in the context of modern technological civilization, crisis and war, because his concept of the primacy of practical (moral and ethical) reason over theoretical, technical and instrumental reason opens up ways to solve the global problems of our time. Kant's anniversary is particularly significant in light of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Distorting the educational, moral, ethical and universalist orientation of his philosophy, the Russian propaganda tries to use it for ideological and propaganda purposes. That is why the events dedicated to Kant's anniversary are an important part of the struggle against the Russian aggressor.
