Abstract

The possibility of establishing a scientific and technical enterprise at the Institute for Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to produce a wide range of radiation isotopes and radionuclide pharmaceuticals based on them is considered. Currently, the need for such drugs in Ukraine is met exclusively through imports. The Institute has all the prerequisites for the establishment of such an enterprise: premises adapted for radiation hazardous work, personnel with relevant experience in the manufacture of experimental samples of radiopharmaceuticals, and the availability of persons who can organize and establish production. An overview of accelerators and technologies is provided to determine the optimal solutions for Ukraine. The possibility of conducting work on beam oncotherapy and creating a subdivision of boron-neutron capture therapy based on the low-energy accelerator EGP-10K is discussed.
