Abstract

Considered design and purpose of the New Safe Confinement, which is currently under construction at Chernobyl NPP near the Object “Shelter”. For long-term (100 years) operation of confinement needs analysis and forecasting compatible thermogasodynamic and humid processes in confinement. For this purpose, a three-dimensional computer model was developed, which also gave the opportunity to verify that the project special ventilation system in confinement works correctly in possible climatic conditions and the ventilation equipment refusals. We also consider the results of applying the developed models for predicting the spread of radioactive dust into the air volume and the formation of condensation on surfaces of confinement and Object “Shelter”.
