Clusters and Technology Platforms as a Mechanism for Development of Economy of Ukraine

Abstract

The sustainable development of economics of Ukraine requires the using of all possibilities of available tools of innovation development, including possibilities of clusters and technology platforms. Application of these tools should be based on combination of national and regional development. The cluster in the classical form is based on geographic location and consequently corresponds to the regional policy while the technological platform is formed according to branch requirements and corresponds more to national development. It is shown also that implementation of research results demands to associate efforts and resources of all participants of a chain from scientific idea to sale of intellectual property rights, the goods and services. Technological platforms which promote increase of competitiveness, a sustainable development and creation of the goods and services of world quality serve to purposes of such association. Examples of technological platforms being formed in Ukraine are presented. The attention to necessity of the amendment legal and law norms for creation and functioning of technological platforms and clusters in Ukraine is paid.
