Advanced Technologies for Tunnel Supporting in Ukrainian Coal Mines

This report demonstrates the advantages of the roof support bolting technology designed by the Polyakov Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics of NAS of Ukraine. A concept of stability control in the tunnels which uses a structure consisting of rock-anchor elements with a great safety factor is proposed. The new technology is tested and broadly implemented in Ukrainian coal mines.
