Legal aspects of counteracting Russian aggression and restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine

Abstract

The article considers the issues of counteracting Russian aggression, restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine, protecting the rights of Ukrainian citizens during war and occupation, bringing to justice the aggressor state, as well as individuals and organizations guilty of war crimes, collaboration and other anti-government activities. Special attention is devoted to: the qualification of the hybrid war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and responsibility for its conduct; qualification of annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol; qualification of the status of ORDLO and recognition by Russia of the so-called "DPR" and "LPR" independence; protection of human rights in the territories annexed and illegally controlled by Russia. Organizational and legal solutions for the research of these issues by the institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are proposed.
