The report states that one of the priority areas of research at the V. Lashkaryov Institute of Semiconductor Physics of the NAS of Ukraine is a fundamental and applied research aimed to create a new generation of the functional semiconductor materials and structures. The report focuses attention on the importance of developing the microelectronic industry that is strategically important in the modern world and determines the level of scientific and technological progress of the country. The state of the microelectronic industry is analyzed, and in order to revive the microelectronic industry in Ukraine and to meet the needs of the national defense industry, it is proposed to create a state key laboratory on the basis of the Institute.
