Abstract

The authors of the article aim to recall the heroic events of 60 years ago, related to the creation and organization of mass production of the general purpose control machine “Dnipro-1”, which was the first second-generation semiconductor machine in Europe, as well as to commemorate its chief designer, Boris M. Malinovsky, a well-known scientist in the field of cybernetics and computer technology, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine, whose 100th birthday was recently widely celebrated by the scientific community. Many students and followers of Boris M. Malinovsky, who laid in those years the foundations of a new scientific field, cybernetics, continue to develop it today.
