If the situation with science in the country does not change radically, even the Lord God will not help Ukraine

Abstract

The author discusses the place of science in the modern world, its role in the progress of human civilization, contemplates whether any country can refuse to maintain its scientific sphere, analyzes in this context the attitude of the Ukrainian state and Ukrainian society to research, considers the main trends in the domestic education sector, comparing them with global ones, depicts in broad strokes the prospects of a country where science doesn’t exist or has been destroyed, and this picture, unfortunately, is very reminiscent of current Ukrainian realities.
