Ukrainian women in armed conflicts: A sociocultural dimension

The diversity of roles, images, and functions of Ukrainian women who have taken part in armed conflicts is analyzed on a wide range of sources, key social stereotypes about these responsibilities are presented. Emphasis is placed on the need to study the women's experience of various wars, which includes a set of economic, social, political, cultural and ideological circumstances that determined the living conditions of women, their attitude to authorities/state, their understanding of the course and meaning of war, influenced their emotional condition and forced to seek answers to questions about the place and role of women during war. The work is based on the idea that women were active players in social change, and their activities during the years of armed conflict determined the possibilities for the development of women's positions in the future.
