Abstract

The report considers the history of Lviv Scientific School on Crystal Chemistry at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Some of the main results of the research carried out by the author at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry and elsewhere, focusing on relationships “composition—structure—properties”, are presented, illustrating the usefulness of a crystal chemical approach for a targeted synthesis of new compounds and development of materials with particular chemical and physical properties. The importance of cooperation with institutes of the NAS of Ukraine is emphasized.
