Червона книга України є головним інструментом збереження рідкісних та зникаючих видів рослин і тварин і має достатню законодавчу базу для виконання покладених на неї завдань. Статтю присвячено проблемам підвищення ефективності Червоної книги України у справі збереження видів, що перебувають під охороною.
