Abstract

We have firstly investigated the expression of β-glucosidase PYK 10 gene in A. thaliana seedlings under Х-radiation doses of 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 Gy. An increase in the number of ER-bodies and the β-glucosidase activity correlates with the enhancement of the PYK 10 expression. The increased PYK 10 expression in A. thaliana seedlings under X-radiation is a part of the internal program of plant protection against the action of environmental factors. ER-bodies containing β-glucosidase may be one of the main components of a plant protection system from the influence of X-radiation.
