By the biological synthesis during culturing the mycelium of fungus Pleurotus ostreatus with salts CdSO4 and Na2S, CdS semiconductor nanoparticles (quantum dots) are obtained. Using the spectral analysis of formed particles, it is established that the absorption peaks obtained are typical of CdS nanoparticles. By the method of transmission electron microscopy, it is demonstrated that the obtained quantum dots form dense clusters with a diameter from 40 to 70 nm. The size of individual nanoparticles within these clusters is from 5 to 8 nm.
