Synthesis and thermal transformation of complexly substituted carbonated hydroxyapatites

The complexly substituted (Na+,CO32−)-containing hydroxyapatites are prepared from aqueous solutions of the system Na+−Ca2+−NO3−−CO32−−PO43−(Ca/P = 1.67 and different molar ratios CO32−/PO43−). The thermal transformation of the samples heated to 700 ºC is investigated. The obtained compounds have been characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, FTIR-spectroscopy, and temperature-programmed desorption mass spectrometry.
