Abstract

The formulation and the solution of the nonlinear problem of formation of a neck in the cracked plate under tension for the piecewise linear diagram of deformation of a material are considered. With the application of the Fourier transformation and the discretization of equations, the problem is reduced to a system of nonlinear algebraic equations. The influence of a nonlinearity on the crack opening at the top and on the neck depth distribution is investigated.
