Microscopic shell structure in the gastropod’s family Viviparidae from Ukraine: taxonomic aspect

The paper deals with the investigations of the microscopic shell structure in Viviparidae molluscs. It is found that the microscopic shell structures in three species of the genera Viviparus and C. listeri are similar. The outer layer is characterized by a simple prismatic structures; the internal layer is described by a complex cross-lamellar structures. A certain value of the microscopic shell structure for the discrimination of molluscs on specific and genera levels in Viviparidae is estimated.
