On the deep-bed filtration of water with high iron content

Abstract

An approximate solution, which becomes exact in absence of iron ions, of the mathematical task of the physico-chemical iron removal from water with mainly ferric hydroxide particles at filter grain media is obtained. Dependences for calculating the concentrations and the head loss are illustrated by a number of examples with typical original information. The dependences promote the substantiation of technological and design parameters, first of all, the run time, on the basis of two criteria.
