Priorities for managing the development of regional economic systems in Ukraine: the course of recovery and European integration

Modern challenges of martial law, the need for post-war recovery, the implementation of European integration initiatives and the continuation of the decentralization reform led to the rise of the tasks of updating and increasing the efficiency of the regional development management system as challenge for the state, administrative territorial units and society. The article analyzes the modern institutional basis for the formation of state regional policy in Ukraine and in the EU and provides formulation of the current priorities for managing the development of regional economic systems. Special emphasis is placed on the priorities of safety and well-being of the population, creating conditions for attracting investments, improving the structure of economic systems of regions, promoting the development of points of economic growth, enhancing the inter-municipal cooperation, balancing the financial and budgetary support for the functioning of administrative territorial units, strengthening the capacity of communities for self-development on the basis of innovation, digitization and in compliance with the sustainable development goals.
