Tsunami in the Indian Ocean: geodynamics and lessons for Ukraine

Abstract

The article represents a geodynamic model of the most enormous destructive tsunami in the Indian Ocean (the main seismic strike occurred on 26.12.2004) based on information from the Internet and classical geology data. It’s shown that a tsunami generating earthquake is connected with an influence of Eastern-Indian underwater mountain range on subduction process of Indo-Australian plate drift under Zond insular arch.
