Археозоологія – дисципліна на межі зоології, археології та палеонтології, яка вивчає діяльність людини в історичному минулому. На підставі археозоологічних досліджень можна реконструювати палеокліматичні, палеоекологічні та палеоекономічні умови давніх поселень та цілих регіонів. Стрімкий розвиток археозоології у світі ставить її в один ряд з найперспективнішими напрямами сучасної науки.
