Four Basic Tendencies of World Development at R&D

It is shown that R&D undergoes changes against the background of globalization and liberalization of world economy. These changes have been come to four categories. Reasons and examples of their manifestation at R&D are given. Qualitative assessment of scientific and technological progress in key branches of world economy is proposed
