Abstract

The issue of the formation of world multipolarity and its impact on the economic development of Ukraine is considered. To the extent that fragmentation replaces traditional globalization, multipolarity causes the world’s shift away from bipolarity and its transformation to the current state. The problem of the world’s transformation from bipolar to multipolar is extremely relevant not only for the present, but also for Ukraine’s search for its adequate place in the long term.

The characteristics are determined and the prospects are outlined for the development of economic power of countries of the world. Possible artificial signs of the countries’ transformation to multipolarity are presented. Like any socio-political and economic process, the formation of multipolarity can be considered in terms of a certain artificiality. Therefore, it may also be about assigning countries to particular centers of polarity for some other (primarily political) reasons.

The necessity of Ukraine's orientation towards countries of economic power is determined in terms of both solving certain problems and outlining the directions of priority relations in the context of a multipolar world. Ukraine's orientation towards countries of economic power should help to solve not only current but also future problems. In the post-war reconstruction of the national economy, the priority of choosing the countries that Ukraine should focus on is quite understandable. Of course, these are the EU countries and the USA. China and India can also be considered as countries that are rapidly developing and have huge sales markets. The possibilities of attracting their labor force for the reconstruction of Ukraine are somewhat debatable, however.

Ukraine must have a concept of post-war reconstruction at the national and sectoral levels that is understandable to the Western economic and political community. It must not only perceive multipolarity as a reality of world economic and political processes, but also strive to find its optimal place in it.
